6.30pm-7.25pm Beginners - Tai Chi 24 and Qigong

Whether you are a complete beginner or someone looking to finish learning the simplified form, this class will give you a structured introduction to the core principles of Yang style tai chi and qigong. Our beginners classes are fun and friendly places to relax, learn and meet new people.

7.35-8.30pm All Levels -  Tradition Yang Style Baduanjin

This traditional set of movements is not the short set of exercises commonly taught, but the traditional qigong body conditioning for training in Tai Chi. 'Baduanin', translates as 8 brocades or 8 pieces of silk, and each brocade in this set contains a series of movements to train a specific skill. The whole set takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete as one whole practice, although the individual 'brocades' can be practiced separately.

FAQs

Wear flat shoes and comfortable clothing.

If you are coming for a medical reason, please let us know before class so we can support you appropriately. We don't need to know lots of details, but an overview may help.

During class, you are the best judge of what you should/shouldn't do - if you need to sit down, stop, get a drink, use the loo, make notes... you don't need permission.

If you miss any of your regular classes you are invited to make those up by coming to any other suitable class at any location. There's no time limit (within reason) and you may make up classes in advance if you know that you will be away.

Numbers are strictly limited at the moment, of course, so masks will be required when entering and leaving buildings but, in line with current guidance, not required during class. Windows will be open, bring a jumper so as not to be cold!
