7.00-8.00pm Beginners Tai Chi

We will focus on learning calming, mindful qigong to train good principles and remain centred and grounded (essential in modern times!) and the soft flowing movements of the first tai chi form of the simplified 24 form.

8.00-9.00pm Continuers Tai Chi

Alongside out continuing practice of the 108 traditional long form, we will be focusing on the Taiji Bagua as devised by Sam Masich as part of his Internal Arts Method. In addition we will be adding in elements of the pushing hands curriculum to deepen our understanding of form and promote even better health.

6.30pm - 7.30pm Beginners and All Levels Tai Chi and Qigong

​Whether just starting out or deepening your experience of training in tai chi, this class will help you understand the core principles of Yang style tai chi and qigong. Our beginners classes are fun and friendly places to relax, learn and meet new people.​

7.30pm - 8.30pm Continuing Tai Chi

We will revise the straight sword/jian through the range of forms we teach (5 section sword, 5 section partner sword, traditional 54 sword) as well as fencing in both Yang and Cheng Man Ching styles. As this is a weapons class, it is only open to current students who have trained with us for at least 2 years. If you would like to participate, please speak to Simon directly.

9.30am - 10.30am All Levels Tai Chi

This daytime class is a mixed ability group with complete beginners and some with a little experience all training together. At times the group may split to focus on particular areas as required and enable more personalised learning.

We focus on a combination of qigong for health and the gentle movements of the first 5 Section tai chi form, but the more experienced will also be studying deeper aspects of traditional Yang Family qigong/neigong (meditative exercises).

In addition to the standing post practice (zhang zhuang) which is the opening to each class for 20 minutes, we will be revising the 5 section hand form and then moving on to the 5 section 2 person form and skills.

This daytime class is studying the 5 Section Solo forms. Some experience of the form is required in order to join this class. We are also studying a range of other qigong and health exercises.

10.30am-12.30pm All Levels (£15 drop in)

​This weekend booster class is designed as a class for more experienced students or those who are keen to deepen their tai chi while sometimes jumping in the deep end. Whilst the overarching focus is the 108 long form, this can be taken in many directions - and often is. Taught through reference to partnerwork, other forms, qigong and anything else relevant, it is a way to deepen your understanding of not only the choreography and sequences, but the energies and attitudes that fill them with meaning.
